Duran Duran for one night only......

I've always enjoyed their music ........ they are here tonight ....... And I am going!!!!! How lucky am I? I have been singing their music all week and am seriously seriously looking forward to this evening!!!!!

It's that time of year.......

When so many people are leaving Singapore! It's the end of the financial year thing I think, but I have another three friends leaving soon and none of them want to go! Its one of the sad things about expat life - that for a lot of people it's very transient. So tonight I made three more leaving cards - I'll post photos Tomorrow. I am really pleased with them as I used three of the new Kanban stamps I bought in the UK last time I was there! On a brighter note I've been invited to go with friends to meet a touring welsh choir on Friday evening for a sing song - now I am no singer, I sound like banshee crossed with the hound of the Baskervilles when I sing, so I'll not be doing any solos!

A Busy Week

LLD - Lynne's Last day!

Wednesday was a sad day as it was Lynne's last day here, soooooo we played Mahjong, ate cake, gave her her book-which she loved and wished her well! We also arranged to meet up in the UK when I'm there in April -so now it doesn't feel so bad!

There is a downside .......

of living on a small overpopulated microstate!!! Most things about Singapore I love - the lifestyle, lots to do, safe and accessible livng and great food to name but a few wonderful things about the place ..... BUT like many expat's we live in a condo and the people one across and two floors up are having three bathrooms and the marble floors replaced - and this means only one thing  ......... HACKING - for the next 9 days! I just have to mention the word to my friends and they immediately cancel plans to visit me and suggest we meet elsewhere! I could find many places to go to myself, if the TV  box hadnt given up on us last night, so, I have to wait in for the man to come and fix it!

I think Im going to make prawn noodle soup, to try and take my mind off it!

Lynne's book

Over the weekend I have been making this mini album for my good friend Lynne who is heading back to the UK, after three years in Singapore. I'll give you a peek at it but please dont let Lynne see because I dont want to spoil the surprise!

Im really sad she is leaving us - but hope that the book and good wishes will make her smile and remember the places and happy times we have all shared here! I found instructions for the book at SharonsScrappySpace.com (thanks Sharon!), but I did make some changes to mine! Im planning on doing a tutorial - if you fancy having a go at making your own - and if you do......... please send me a link - I'd love to see it!

Let's Just Do It!!!!!!

Ive been thinking it would be cool to have a blog for a while, and make some crafting videos, and just get into the modern crafting world! I've been planning on doing some classes for people in real life for ages, but the nature of being an expat here, is that you often spend time travelling home (back to the UK for me), or travelling to see new places (nowhere near as often as I would like) or having visitors and being a tour guide - all of which are a lot of fun, but sometimes get in the way of doing other things!

So if Ive been promising for ages I will organise something, or help you to get started with a scrapbooking project (you know who you are!) I hope you find something here which inspires you to create - and if you do make something please send me a link as I would love to see what you make!!!
